With the title referred from Mishima Yukio's novel, 'Confessions of a mask,' the exhibition aims to think about a meaning of confession in the ear of media. Confessio means revealing own inner mind but never shows true appearance like what Mishima Yukio said, "Actually, the essence of confession is impossibility. No one can show a true face. Yet, a mask penetrating into a skin can confess." Even at a moment when a confessing person thinks to reveal oneself, it cannot pass self-censorship for people's attentions. 

Contemporary people reveal themselves like an exhibitionist. In many kinds of SNS, a 'self' is showed in various ways to others. Revealing personal life looks a type of confession but actually it is accessorised appearance. SNS makes people confess in different ways. It is untruthful and self-conscious. As personal boundary becomes clear, people start opening their ordinary life to unknown others online. However, 'my' confession showing off to unspecified individuals are very playful and offensive. The exhibition will explore how a meaning of inner quest is changing in the digital media era.
