Constantly revealing creativity and establishing identity as the artist is the biggest tasks to Kwang-Young Chun. As a result of pursuing new and different thing continuously for 50years, his works show different aspects. On the basis, however, there is an answer by himself for 'Who am I?'. Through sculptures covered by Korean paper with texts as a medium, he talks about 'a story of people.' Words in an old book are not just letters, but a trace delivered by people who used and touched the paper. The story is expressed as condensed phenomenon in terms of a relationship between a person and nature, or people, so that sculptures with Korean paper are transmitted by a method 'collection.'
Oil paintings in 1970 and 80s showing for the first time in Korea show how a relationship between dot, line and multi-dimensional elements has changed in his works. 12 works from collection of Museum of Art, Seoul National University are on view.
