This exhibition is the first JR's solo exhibition, which introduces all his projects, and it is also the last exhibition of three parts started since last year, after Tohoku earthquake. At the first one, he introduced artists and activists in all over the world, who try to change the world, and then the second exhibition 'new government by Sakakuchi Kyohei' was the experiment to make the new society as repeating the creative layers in a daily life.
In this time, 'Portrait of a Generation' (2004-2006), which exhibited big portraits of young people living at a city-built house in outside Paris, 'Face 2 Face'(2007), showing big portraits of Palestinians and Israelis on either side, and 'Women are Heroes'(2008-2010), aiming to assert the dignity of women sacrificed by dispute, will be introduced as documentary video in terms of time.
Above all, the most noticeable exhibition is the project 'Inside Out', for Tohoku earthquake. With a truck equipped a camera for portrait and a large scale printer, he photographed about 400 people, including fisherman, children, or a store-owner, and exhibited portraits of them on the street. Some of documents and portraits for this project will be displayed.
JR's activity is not to deliever his message, but as making the public gallery on the street, the new communication is formed there, so that many social issues can be announced to the world. At the speech of 'TED Prize', he said 'The Art is changing the world'
