The Hara Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce a two-day video art festival featuring short films by 34 artists from 16 countries, such as Isaac Julien, Francis Alÿs, Hans Op de Beeck and Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba. Because of their long lengths and often inconvenient screening times, video works tend not to be enjoyed in their entirety by the viewers. VIVA was born in Spain to address this situation by presenting only works of relatively short durations, and in sequential order. Most of the featured works range in length from a few minutes to about 10 minutes (the longest being around 15 minutes). We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy video art under ideal viewing conditions. The Spanish curator of the project Macu Morán will speak briefly to the audience at the beginning of each screening.
