Tokyo Frontline new concept art fair
Date: 23 Feb - 26 Feb 2012

The new art fair TOKYO FRONTLINE celebrated its successful first year in February 2011, with more than 6,000 visitors and good overall sales record. The fair was mentioned in many media as one of the interesting art fairs with future development, as well as received good feedback from the visitors, many of which are already looking forward for the fair in 2012. TOKYO FRONTLINE team has already started to lay out a plan for its second edition in February 2012. Focusing on the promotion of contemporary artists, TOKYO FRONTLINE 2012 will be organized with three core ideas: ‘encouraging the participation of prospective artists and art galleries’, ‘inviting more exchange with other art fairs in Japan, Asia and abroad’ and ‘stimulating the art trend through the strategy of ‘artstore’.

Featured Projects in Tokyo Frontline 2012

Tokyo Frontline x Parco City: Online artstore OPEN!!
To attract and communicate with the needs of our clients and potential buyers throughout the year, Tokyo Frontline will start its "artstore" with one of the most popular Japanese online shopping mall "PARCO City". Currently under construction towards its launch in Oct 2012, a virtual pavilion "Tokyo Frontline artstore" will promote works of up-coming artists and their collaborative projects.

Publication projects Tokyo Frontline Book & Planetary Photobooks
In collaboration with an on-demand printer "Heuristic", artbeat publishers' will start a series of publication named "Tokyo Frontline Art Books" and "Planetary Photobooks", both feature the works of young artists and photographers. The publications will be available in October 2012, and will be largely featured Tokyo Frontline 2012.

Expanding exchange and network!
Tokyo Frontline 2011 gained the special alliance of international exhibitors from Taiwan (Art Taipei / Galerie Grande Siecle), the Netherlands (Foam) and other cities in Japan, such as Kyoto (Art Fair Kyoto). For Tokyo Frontline 2012, we are approaching international art galleries and institutions, including ICI (Independent Curators International) in New York for our collaborative project. By organizing a new art program, the fair will make an active contribution for the recovery effort in Tohoku area.
