Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art will open the second exhibition of 'Re-collection' project. It is to introduce the art works which have had less chances to be on display. This time will be separated as three sections in different theme.
Section 1. Frank Stella Room Frank Stella(1936-) is an artist who continued to overturn the artistic conventions of the day with bold new concepts, while progressing in style throughout his career by experimenting with new types pictorial spaces. The extensive collection of Stella works in the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art is one of the museum’s widely recognized strengths, as well as being one of its visual highlights. The exhibition will be a chance to look at a flow of his works for 35 years, from his early representative work 'Tomlinson Court Park (second version)' (1959) of 'Black Series' to the independent sculpture 'sequoia' (1991).
Section 2. From the Proverbs of Solomon by Erich Brauer Erich Brauer is one of leading artists in Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. 'From the Proverbs of Solomon' is 12 prints based on 'the Proverbs' in the Bible, passing down the wisdom of life. His work describes it as a mysterious scene combining the reality with fantasy. The exhibition will introduce it as well as three bible paintings.
Section 3. In Time with Painting It is possible to enjoy witty art without knowledge. Again, even though knowing something helps a conversation smoothly but it doesn't mean that it makes a conversation fun. 'In Time with Painting' focuses on 'line', 40 art works will be on display. Finding an unique side from boring art work or having a new view for the familiar piece will make us to see art works in a different perspective and consciousness.
