Louise Nevelson (1899-1988), Ad Reinhardt(1913-1967), Hiroshi Sugimoto(1948-).
These Three artists are who create unique art works with an important element, 'Black'. Nevelson had done sculpture with painting black colour on a tree, Reinahrdt painted abstract paintings in black, and Sugimoto has photographed in black-and-white. All works were done through strict repetition and pursuit.
In this exhibition, Nevelson's work of piled boxes, black painting on canvas and prints by Reinhardt, and Sugimoto's 'theatre' series will be introduced. Using period, and art work's technique and style differently, three artists suggest the quiet and different world unlike the ordinary life.
