G-tokyo was launched in 2010 as a contemporary art fair which distinguished itself from like events by partnering exclusively with a highly selective group of the city’s leading cutting-edge galleries.
G-tokyo 2013, the fourth staging of the fair, marks a change of venue - to Tokyo Midtown, as well as fresh lineup of exhibiting galleries. The timing of the fair has changed; G-tokyo will move from winter to spring, now being presented over the course of two days: Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March.
G-tokyo will offer visitors an opportunity to engage with of-the-moment contemporary culture while will providing an accessible environment in which to learn about the acquisition of art - to consider the possibility of opting to enrich their lives through living with art day to day. For the 2013 edition of the fair, G-tokyo has opted for an innovative open-space format in which gallery presentations will not remain bound by a conventional fair booth format; this development is sure to intrigue.
In addition to G-tokyo, The Roppongi Art Night, an event which attracts tens of thousands of visitors, is scheduled for the same weekend - together, the two events will transform the whole of Midtown into an energetic art center.
