It was often said by the artistic duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude that joy was the most important thing in their work. These artists, who transformed things on a gargantuan scale like rivers, islands, bridges and buildings by wrapping them in cloth, spoke of a vital aspect not only in their work, but in the art of many other artists who comprise the increasingly diverse world of contemporary art. The present exhibition features, ten works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, selected from the Hara Museum Collection, together with the large-scale sculpture Campbell's Tomato Soup, one of three copies made by Pop Art superstar Andy Warhol who turned mass-produced iconic imagery into art. Also included are major installations by Yayoi Kusama and Tabaimo. The keyword weaving these and other works in this exhibition together is ″joy.″
