Ms. Chen Chin, one of taiwan's early master artists, held a press conference at the NMH in 1997 to announce that she would donate NT million to the NHM to found a Chen Chin Art and Culture Award. Since its establishment, this award has been bestowed upon thirteen artists, namely, Huang thong Yuan, LIao Jui Fen, Hsu Tzu Han, Peng Wei Ting, Chao Shih Chuan, Chen Shu Jiao(not participate), Fan Mei Ju, Lin Hsuan Yu, Chiu Hui Yu, Lee Liang Tsun, Wu WenLong, Wu Shang Yung, and Lin Shing Ann.

For this exhibition they were invited to present their works to illustrate the different style and techniques of gouache paintings. the exhibition also show six works of Chen Chin as a tribute to her artistic representation of familial love and her devotion to the cultivation of next generation artist.
