Space and Glaze: Lin Chen-long’s Art of Ceramics
Artist(s): LIN Chen-long
Date: 6 Jan - 4 Mar 2012

Taiwan’s famous modern ceramic artist Lin Chen-long (also named “Erh-ku”), born in Nantou in 1955, Lin entered the Han Tang Pottery Factory owned by Wang Shiu-gong in 1973, began to study with Prof. Lin Bao-jia in 1978, and finally began his Tsu Yang Kiln workshop in Tuchen, Taipei, in 1979. A master craftsman of clay, Lin goes beyond the traditional modes of clay modeling to develop new techniques of modeling, filling, twisting, tearing, cutting, and forming. He establishes new possibilities of ceramic techniques. In recent years, Lin has been active on both sides of the Strait, holding several solo and joint exhibitions, and innovating the art of ceramics with his continual effort.
