The Kansai area is famous for avant-garde art movements since the pre-war period. The GUTAI GROUP is the most renowned movement already introduced to an international audience by a large number of exhibitions. As Guggenheim Museum, New York, hosted a show of GUTAI group just recently, the art movement has been reassessed and highly acclaimed by the international art world.
Art Osaka 2013 will present a group of works by former Gutai members who are still active internationally.
