ASO Saburo [1913–2000] expressed images of human beings, which stand up against oppression, confronting social reality. 10 years after his death, the world of ASO Saburo that pursuit a core of human existence will show the theme of "what is painting?" to viewers again, while simplicity and superficial beauty have been popular in current society. Including his works first shown to the public, paintings, sketches and three dimensional works, about 130 pieces, will be exhibited in this exhibition.
