Duang Jianghua’s painting presents the texture and the physical feeling of the city. City is abstracted into several gigantic buildings. The other parts of the city are devoured by the buildings, by the building’s height and its solemnity. Cities are no longer the normal city we are living in. The city’s noise, passion and movement are all eliminated; there is no people in the city, only building; no detail, only outline; no color, only dark; no noise, only solemn. The city is in a special quiet condition, in a closed condition. It seems like becoming a gravestone departing from the real world.
