Sino - Japanese Art Communication Exhibition VIII

The exhibition of Sino- Japanese Art Communication Exhibition Ⅷ will meet audience from 10th to 14th Oct.2011, at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy.

Communication between Japan and China has a long history, ink and wash painting which originated from China transited to Japan in E-do era and became Nan Style painting, in modern and contemporary art history, faced with the western culture, Chinese ink and wash painting and Nan Style painting continue oriental spirit as representative of eastern culture, they also become bridges on Sino-Japanese culture exchanges. Since 1982, Beijing Fine Art Academy and Japanese Nan Fine Art Academy cooperated to hold the communication exhibition, the latest one was held at 2008 and the 8th section will be held in Beijing. 11th Mar.2011, a serious earthquake happened at Japanese eastern ocean and caused disaster, however undisturbed Japanese moved the world. Just after the earthquake, we received paintings from Nan Fine Art Academy which edited as orderly as before. With respect to Chinese people, about fifty ink and wash paintings collected by Beijing Fine Art Academy. Therefore, the 8th exhibition after the earthquake has its different meaning.

Compared exhibitions before, paintings from fifty artists are more variety and fresh which expressed Japanese Nan Style painting’s characters: inosculated Chinese ink and wash painting and western perspective method, these paintings represents distinguished Japanese aesthetics and will surely bring Chinese audience brand new art experiences. Japanese Nan Style artists’ exploration and endeavor will also bring Chinese artists inspiration.

Mountan and water paintings, figure paintings and bird and flower paintings etc. will displayed in the exhibition, some of these paintings inherit tradition Bimo (笔墨) and sprite, some of them explore new painting methods and time spirit, some of them express new scenes of old capital and contemporary youth’s thinking, some elegant and some full of manliness…they represented contemporary Chinese painting artists’ exploration directions and Chinese paintings’ multi-element structure.

Sino-Chinese Communication Exhibition will deepen the exchange and cooperation of artists from the two countries, strengthen the friendship between two countries and enhance ink and wash painting and Japanese Nan Painting’s influence and status.
