Yan Keqin was born in Nantong of Jiangsu in August 1956. He is director of Wuxi Radio TV Station, senior reporter, “four groups” talent of national publicity cultural system, member of Chinese Artists Association and Chinese Calligraphers Association.

Yan Keqin’s paintings master the vigor, simplicity and freedom of freehand brushwork. His freehand brushwork reveals the temperament of literati in regions south of the Yangtze River gives expression to mind in an unrestrained way and inherits the spiritual and clear subtlety of traditional literati’s paintings.

Yan Keqin has long been engaged in administrative management, but he takes time from his busy schedule to pursue the truth of Chinese paintings. Divorced from common sense, his paintings express temperament, revealing the rhythm of life in the twinkling of an eye and presenting the truth of mind in intoxication. This exhibition selects over 40 pieces of ink wash paintings to comprehensively display Yan Keqin’s achievements in artistic creation, which express the spiritual realm revealing the truth of Chinese paintings with antique and simple yet smooth and fresh artistic language.
