As the first solo exhibition of Li Xiangqun in his 34 years of career, this exhibition will present the new breakthrough in his art and thought. Moreover, along with archives of Chinese modern art of Beijing University, the works carry out in-depth analysis for the problem awareness reflected in Li Xiangqun’s art with plenty of literatures, data and videos. The exhibition is mainly divided into three series: series portraits of Mao Zedong, Heap Cloud? Snowdrift series, etc. Great Forbidden City, nearly 200 m2 if unfolded, is totally cast with cupronickel and takes six years to finish. Many works will make their debut at this solo exhibition.
