As Spring Festival is approaching, National Art Museum of China specially plans City·Countryside——Nomination Exhibition on Chinese Paintings of National Art Museum of China (2012)” as one of new year exhibitions in order to establish the brand image of academic nomination exhibition of National Art Museum of China, improve the contemporary development of Chinese paintings, encourage the national painter to pay attention on times and life, catalyze the emergence of Chinese paintings standing for the spirit of 21st century, and enrich the artwork collections of our country. The exhibition nominates 60 contemporary Chinese painters totally, each painter shall provide 3-5 pieces of artworks, and the total exhibition work is 220 pieces. Thereinto, a part of painters take the modern city as the theme, and depict various states of city with vivid paintings. Another part of painters take the countryside as the subject, and present the amorous feelings of villages. No matter for city or countryside, they are taking feelings of being close to reality and bright paintings to express the deep humanistic concern.
