92-year-old Mr. Zhou Lingzhao teaches students learns and studies in arts circle and creates arts for people so that has great amount of achievements during 80-year arts life: the first poster Revival of new China; the first portrait of Chairman Mao on gate power of Tian An Men in founding ceremony; design of national emblem, the League flag and team pennant; painted screen Shaoshan in Hunan Hall of Great Hall of the People; design of RMB of new China; oil painting the May 4th Movement and huge mural Unification of World People in National Museum of China. These left glory to arts course and made important contributions to national arts career and cultural construction.

With the opportunity of 80th anniversary of starting arts of Mr. Zhou Lingzhao, National Arts Museum of China holds “Arts Painting Exhibition of Zhou Lingzhao”to show appreciation to older-generation artists’ contributions to Chinese arts career and praise for their insistence and pure arts spirit for arts.

Mr. Zhou Lingzhao was born in Jiangping of Hunan in 1919 and worked for anti-war fine arts publicity at the Third Fine Arts Department of Policy Ministry of Wuhan in youth period; in 1948, answering to Xu Beihong’s invitation, he went to Peking State-Run Arts College for education and teached in China Central Academy of Fine Arts till retirement and never stopped working by now. This exhibition will show more than 200 works including oil painting, watercolor, Chinese ink and arts design and is the first expression of Mr. Zhou Lingzhao’s arts works in National Art Museum of China.
