Be Memorized

At the end of 2010 Chen Xi finished her painting project like marathon and her series of works “Be Memorized” finally accomplished after five years.

The “Be Memorized” includes 18 works that presents some important events from the 70s of last century in China by true-life means. These events were portrayed in the appearance of TV reports. The 18 works can even be considered as one works that presents the dazzling changes in the recent forty years of China and develops much thinking on the public media “television” which always and might dominate our information, amusement and living in a long time...

Chen Xi has large span from earlier expressionism to present concept true-life painting. Since her first appearance of strong expressionism style in 1997, she presented totally different features in her exhibition “The Queen’s New Clothes” after ten years of accumulation, which showed her transmutation of thinking. In the series of “Be Memorized” Chen Xi realized her self breakthrough. It might be only a change of means in others’ opinions, however, for an artist it is more like a promise from heaven in destiny. From then on there are more possibilities in the future. There are more different interesting expressions to search for in the future. The free state is exciting without doubt for an artist especially if the results of free expression can obtain agreement and respects of the people.

“Be Memorized-Personal Exhibition of Chen Xi” will open ceremoniously in National Art Museum of China on June 11 to June 20 2011. The exhibition is planned by Shu Ke Wen, a famous media celebrity and scholar and the academic presider of this exhibition will be Wang Huang Sheng, President of China Central Academy of Fine Art and famous critic, and Yang Xiao Yan, professor of Sun Yat-Sen University and famous critic.

After the exhibition in National Art Museum of China, “Be Memorized-Personal Exhibition of Chen Xi” will start its tour in other Chinese cities and the United States.
