Art Beijing Contemporary Art Fair is the first promotional project of this cultural originality. Art Beijing 2009 has been the 4th of this top event. Facing the situation of increasing competition in expositions at home and abroad and with great support from all sides, the previous three Art Beijing bases itself upon the mainland, scans widely the Asia; holding the goals of “Taking the Chinese contemporary art as the core”, “Conception of the whole Asia”, “Serving the art and people”, and “Public education and social responsibility”, Art Beijing has succeeded greatly both in the market operation and academic construction.

Art Beijing 2009 will be held from April 26th to 30th, 2009 in the Agricultural Exhibition Centre. As a large-scale successful art event of Beijing, it has gained vigorous support from the Ministry of Culture, Beijing Cultural Bureau, and Beijing Cultural and Development Fund. The Executive Committee of Art Beijing will take the attitude of dealing with concrete matters relating to work, directly face the industry characters and market trend in the art field. Art Beijing 2009 will be a jewelly contemporary art feast through our more innovative planning, much clearer idea and orientation.   

The success of the holding of the Olympic Games 2008 has showed to the whole world a developed, open, sincere and innovative Beijing China. China has been developing quickly and continuously under the condition of the worldwide economic lowness at large, which has been a wonder. The fast economic development has brought a chance for the development of the whole Asia. Gradually China is qualified with integrating the Asian resources. At the same time, the Chinese contemporary arts have been the investment goal which is more active and paid much attention in the worldwide art market. The developing direction of the Chinese contemporary arts will be an orientation sign of the development of the Asian countries. Beijing is the capital of China, also an art city of China. Galleries from all over the world one after another choose Beijing as their new position for development. The art of Beijing is no longer the art of China.   

Art Beijing Fund
Beijing Culture & Development Fund has specially established “Art Beijing Fund” for sponsoring galleries to take part in all kinds of activities under the name of “Art Beijing”, thus providing the practical train of thoughts and approaches for the development of the art market confronted with the difficulties. 

Being an important impetus and authorized commonweal cultural organization, Beijing Culture & Development Fund all the time takes promoting the development of the capital cultural market as its own first responsibility.  “Art Beijing Fund” acts as a special fund under Beijing Culture & Development Fund. It is estimated that it will invest 5,000,000 in 2009. It is mainly used for supporting promotion on the good brand works of “Art Beijing”, planning the academic exhibitions, inviting the overseas collectors, media and so on. Meanwhile it will also sponsor the first class market---the exhibitions of the galleries and their related programs.

Photo Beijing---Laboratory Project
As the first contemporary photo exposition in Asia, Photo Beijing 2008 won the great success and was pain much attention by all circles. Photo Beijing admires its full force for the newly rising market and applauses and favors its promotion without counting any cost. The 16 participating galleries showed their very high quality photographic artworks, and in our Educational Courses, we invited the very important curators, critic, and collectors from this field. The thematic exhibition--- Artists Cinema gathered the 10 best Chinese video artists’ works. The successful operation of Photo Beijing provided the triumphant example and precious experience for the development of the contemporary photo exposition in China.

Photo Beijing 2009 will expand in scale on the basis of 2008. We will continue the “invitational system”, inviting 30 galleries from all over the world. In order to cultivate market and create a comfortable environment for the participating galleries, Photo Beijing will adjust booth fee to 50% of the present price. From 2009, Photo Beijing in due form will carry forward “2-year’s laboratory project of Photo Beijing”. During these 2 years, Photo Beijing is not run for the aim of profits, but hand in hand with all opening up a future and potential market

Art Unforbidden——Asia Art Power Station
 “Art Beijing 2009” will continuously adhere to the principle of the academic and commercial value of equal attention. Inside the exhibition hall, 1000m2 will be reserved for holding “Art Unforbidden”, the large-scale theme exhibition, emphasizing the content of the contemporary art as the main body, and furthermore dealing with the more experimental and advanced art creation of the new talents at present. Hopefully this exhibition could not only look forward to the art future in learning, but also explore a new increasing point under the Chinese contemporary art market, thus guiding the fresh direction of collection and investment 
 
Art Beijing expects that this project can be made a more participating and open exhibition and has close relation with the galleries in the deeper layer. The Academic Committee of Art Beijing will invite, based on the new young artists from the important galleries.

Publicizing and Promotion
Art Beijing will hand in hand with many professional mass media, resort its advanced media integration conception, excellent activity planning power and combine cleverly the media special topic with the contemporary art. It will attract the eyes of more people and collectors through integration of all kinds of old and new media forms and dense covering.

Based on the unused resources of the previous 3 exhibitions, Art Beijing 2009 will further increase the publicizing strength of overseas media, outspreading deeper, multimode exchanges and cooperation. The Executive Committee will organize the overseas media, invite the famous art journalists, critics, planners from abroad to the scene of Art Beijing, thus making the target media have a new acquaintanceship for Art Beijing and a new understanding for the contemporary China. 

VIP Service
VIP service of Art Beijing 2009 will take a completely new look. It will provide a series of new activities based on the original services for VIPs.

Art Beijing will invite 20 famous overseas collectors to the scene of Art Beijing. The collectors could know maximum about the development of Asian contemporary art and the latest trends of the well-known contemporary artists during the limited exhibition time.  In addition, Art Beijing will also organize collectors to visit the galleries in Beijing, providing a further chance for exchanges between the galleries and collectors.

Art Beijing would like to be a new exhibition form suitable for the Chinese contemporary art development for the fair, biennale exhibition and art festival. The “new form” can guarantee the participating galleries a maximal commercial success in here; also guarantee the main body exhibition, special exhibition, periphery exhibition to assort each other nicely, making the contemporary art developing in a deeper academic exploration.
