Art Habitat - a brand new experience of art collecting and displaying
Art and culture always go hand in hand. The literati used to collect calligraphy, painting and objects of art in the past; now we collect comic books, films and limited edition furniture. Art appreciation is an essential part of art collection.
The Hong Kong Arts Centre is now bringing art out of the museum and into the homes of many. 'Art Habitat' is a collaborative research project between the Centre and the Hong Kong Art School, aimed at studying and encouraging art collection. The rental scheme will benefit individuals with short term art loans, putting art in a brand new context - each ' adopted art work' is able to dwell in a domestic environment. Now come to bring the homeless home.
