Hong Kong Arts Centre will showcase the second edition of an annual exhibition series focusing on the private collections of Asian art collectors, entitled Hong Kong Arts Centre 2nd Annual Collectors’ Contemporary Collaboration. The exhibition will take place from 10 May until 29 May, 2014 at the Pao Galleries.
Initiated last year, the project showcases highlights from Asian collections so as to broaden the public’s understanding of art patronage and acquisition. This year the HKAC will turn our eyes to Indonesian collectors – the exhibition will become a platform to examine their roles the web of global art market and geo- economic relations. With the help and direction of noted Indonesian curator Agung Hujatnikajennong, several leading Indonesian art collectors will be sharing highlights from their extensive collections of contemporary art that extend well beyond their national borders. They are Rudy Akili, Paula Dewiyanti, Eddy Hartanto, Deddy Kusama, Oei Hong Djien, Arif Suherman, Honus Tandijono, Tom H Tandio, Budi Tek, and Wiyu Wahono. Selected artworks will include painting, sculpture, installation and video art by international, regional and local artists.
