Footnote - Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Graduation Exhibition
Date: 22 Jul - 13 Aug 2011
Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Art School and the RMIT University, this exhibition is one of the most highly-regarded exhibitions at the bachelor degree level in Hong Kong. This is also the premier year for having graduates majoring in Sculpture to present their works in the exhibition, together with graduates from Painting, Ceramics and Photography majors of the programme.
The exhibition is titled “Footnote”, a word referring to an elaborated note habitually placed at the bottom of a page of an article that provides extra information about something that has been written on that page. Although the “footnote” is not regarded as part of the body text, it is an explanation, or a piece of supplementary information that enables readers to have more thorough comprehension of the article.
And this is a well-thought title that fully reveals the thoughts of the 43 graduates who would like to invite audiences to explore the “additional information”, i.e. the concept development and creative process, behind each piece of artwork being showcased at the exhibition. They would like to share with audiences their own stories and their interested topics, through their creative works presented in different media of art. They aim to provide audiences with new insights and dynamic art appreciation experience with different interpretations of, and different inspirations obtained from their works.
