The Asia Contemporary Art Show will be at the center of the most important week for art in Hong Kong this Fall, returning to the five-star Conrad Hong Kong from October 2nd to 5th after its tremendous success as the most influential satellite event to Art Basel in May this year. The timing for the Fall edition takes advantage of the “Golden Week” holidays in China, and the Sotheby’s, China Guardian and Beijing Poly Fall auctions, when many collectors and visitors are in Hong Kong.
The Spring edition of the Show in May attracted over 10,000 collectors and art buyers, with sales of more than HK$24 million over the four-day Show.
This fifth edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show will feature 80 galleries from 18 countries in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. There will be more than 2,500 artworks on show and for sale, with a focus on original works, limited editions, sculpture and photography from some of the world’s most interesting and promising artists – from emerging and mid-career artists, to those who have already achieved recognition in private and public collections, and at
Organizers of the event, Asia Contemporary Art Ltd, have also announced the launch of a greatly expanded art website, www.asiacontemporaryart.com, which complements and adds value to the two annual shows giving visitors access to the art continuously throughout the year. Mark Saunderson, the Show director said: “The website now features 520 artists and 2,000 artworks from 128 galleries. Collectors and art lovers can browse and buy from the site before, during and after our two shows in Spring and Fall.
“This extends the value of the shows for both buyers and sellers of art from two very exciting and engaging long weekends a year with face-to-face engagement with artists and galleries at the shows, to 365 days a year and 24/7 online for personal browsing and buying.
“Collectors planning to attend the upcoming show in October can check out the exhibiting galleries and artists, view their works, and make inquiries before the Show. Then at Show time, they have an efficient and convenient way to view the artworks in which they are interested. Of course, there is also the opportunity to buy works before the show opens, or to buy works after the show and year round. Many of the works on the site have pricing information.”
