Asia Contemporary Art Show - Hong Kong 2013 (Fall)
Date: 3 Oct - 6 Oct 2013

The upcoming Fall edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show at the JW Marriott Hotel, will be the largest and most diverse art fair in Hong Kong in the second half of the year. The soldout show will feature 72 galleries from 15 countries from Asia and the world, and is timed to coincide with the “Golden Week” holidays in China when many mainland collectors are visiting Hong Kong.

“This will be our third Asia Contemporary Art Show, and we are delighted that each builds on the success of the last,” said Mark Saunderson, Director. “As well as attracting quality galleries from most parts of Asia, we welcome exhibitors from France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, the USA, Australia and South Africa to present their works in Hong Kong’s increasingly sophisticated art market. We are also encouraging exhibitors to bring their artists to Hong Kong, so they can meet with local collectors.”

Visitors to the Show will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with over 60 artists. Artist Pauline Gagnon from France (represented at the Show by Asian Art de Vivre, Room 2912) explained that this is valuable for both the artist and collector.“ I love having the chance to explain the inspiration behind my works, what drives me to paint, and what prompts the evolution of my art. I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet with collectors from Hong Kong, China and other countries – I want to learn from them too.”

The upcoming Show will also feature an expanded range of sculpture and photography. “We have always tried to ensure a representative selection of original paintings, limited editions, sculpture and photography, but have stepped up efforts to bring more sculpture and photography this time due to strong interest in these works at our May show this year,” Mark Saunderson further emphasised.

“Visitors to the show will see exquisite sculptures in bronze, resin, ceramics, metal and other materials from emerging sculptors in China, Korea, the Philippines, Europe and Australia. Leading photographers from Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, South Arica and other countries will present images, in most cases, the first time they have been seen in Hong Kong.”

The Fall edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show opens with an exclusive, invitationonly VIP Collectors Preview on Thursday October 3rd , with Italian sparkling and still wines, plus three kinds of boutique beers, sponsored by Liquid Assets. KRYSTAL Nature’s Alkaline Water will also be served to the expected guest list of over 1,000.
