Hong Kong, Monday March 26th: Asia Contemporary Art Ltd today announced the launch of a new event focused on bringing the works of young and emerging artists to Hong Kong. The Asia Contemporary Art Show will run from October 4th to 7th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Wanchai, and is targeted at Hong Kong art lovers, first time buyers and experienced collectors seeking exciting new works from all over Asia.
“The current art shows in Hong Kong are very focused on the top end of the market,” said Mark Saunderson, Director. “We have long been dissatisfied with the narrow range of reasonably priced artworks, the lack of new blood and the limited selection of works from emerging art markets available locally. We plan to change the game, bringing a vibrant selection of exciting new works to Hong Kong this Fall.”
The Asia Contemporary Art Show will enable galleries to bring together original works, limited editions, sculpture and photography from across Asia that will be accessible and affordable for most buyers – be they first-time buyers or experienced collectors.
Featuring galleries from all over Asia.
“We are targeting to showcase works from galleries and artists all over Asia, including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia,” noted Douwe Cramer, Show Director.
Scheduled for October 4th to 7th, the Show will play a leading part in a stimulating weekend of art-related events this Fall. It will be held at the same time as the Sotheby’s Fall auctions and the well-known antiques fair, Fine Arts Asia, in the nearby Convention & Exhibition Centre. Observed Cramer: “The Grand Hyatt is a great venue for art lovers to wander from room to room in a casual environment, meeting gallerists and artists, and finding new gems in each room.”
Exhibitor bookings are now open, and interested galleries can contact Mark Saunderson at mark@asiacontemporaryart.com or
