After its tremendous success of the 2nd edition in May 2013, Hong Kong Contemporary (HKC) is pleased to announce that HKC Budget Art Fair 2013, a fair truly connecting the people, will be launched on 6th September at Gloucester Luk Kwok Hong Kong.
HKC Budget Art Fair 2013 is a premier art fair that offers affordable yet refreshing artworks to art lovers all around the world. Unlike most fairs and museums, it offers a chance for art lovers from all backgrounds to get to know, and more importantly, to pursue the hottest arts in the art market which drastically shortens the distance between art and the public and gives a sense of intimacy. On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their works in such a rising art hub and the market.
Art fairs seem inevitably linked with profit and money; nevertheless, HKC Budget Art Fair 2013 tries to connect people and art by organizing seminars about art market, art investment and art appreciation, so that art is no longer merely owned and understood by the rich.
Apart from the attempt of breaking the wall between art and people, we are honoured to bring artworks that are usually out of the sight to bridge imagination and reality. A special exhibition will present several paintings from North Korea, providing a glimpse of people’s lives and culture in the highly restricted kingdom.
HKC Budget Art Fair 2013 is definitely an art fair not to be missed, as it is the only art fair in September 2013 and the first major art fair after Art Basel.
