Heritage x Art x Design Walk (HAD) Cultural Tours
Date: 23 Jan - 13 Mar 2010

“Heritage x Art x Design Walk (HAD)” Cultural Tours

The winter sun shines on the streets and alleys of Central and Sheung Wan. For over one hundreds years, trams have gone back and forth through these hustling and bustling areas. There are many lovely scenes in our metropolitan city. Senior residents can be seen sitting under banyan trees chit-chatting with one another whilst old shops attentively serve their clients. The scenery of Hong Kong Island is not only beautiful, but rich in colours.  In the areas that are well-known as the economic and political centre of Hong Kong, there are hidden treasures, and traditional cultures to discover.

HULU Culture wishes to lead each tourist on a stroll through the districts. At a leisurely pace, tourists can experience the diversity of these districts that are rich with Hong Kong history.  On a guided tour, participants will have the chance to follow in the footprints of their predecessors.  Each street has a unique quality.

We believe that personal interaction and dialogue with owners of the old shops is the best ways to understand a local community.  ‘Cultural Tours in Central and Sheung Wan’ are the main activities organised by HAD Walk, and visitors can sign up for ‘Old Shops Tour’ or ‘Food Shops Tour’.  It is our hope that through participating in these tours, visitors will garner local ties and warm feelings about the Central and Sheung Wan districts.

Cultural tours ‘Old Shops in Central and Sheung Wan’ and ‘Food Shops in Central and Sheung Wan’ are conducted in Cantonese whilst Putonghua and English sessions are available on Saturdays.
