We are pleased to announce the date for the 2010 Sovereign Asian Art Prize Finalists' Exhibition and Auction. The 30 finalists' work will be exhibited for a week at The Rotunda, Exchange Square from 21st - 26th February. These works were selected from over 400 nominated entries from all over the Asia Pacific by this year's judges, David Elliott, Fumio Nanjo, Graham Sheffield, Tan Boon Hui, Sir David Tang and Xu Bing. Please save the date - 21st February for our exhibition opening, kindly sponsored by HK Land. Invitations will be out shortly.
If you can't make it to the exhibition please check out our online gallery and vote for your favourite artist!
We will announce the US$25,000 winning entry and a special public vote prize at the charity gala auction dinner sponsored by Julius Baer taking place at The Four Seasons in Hong Kong on 16th March where the 29 finalists' work will be auctioned off. Please mark your diaries and book your tickets now as seats run out very quickly. You can do that immediately by emailing us here.
50% of the auction sale proceeds will go to the artist and the other 50% will be used to support various projects that use art as a means of therapy, rehabilitation and education for disadvantaged children across the region. We will continue to support M'Lop Tapang's street kids of Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Kalki in Pondicherry, India. We will start new funding to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation arts programme in Vietnam and other worthwhile projects.
