Tea Water, gouache, water Color on paper
Though I have always considered nature as the primal force – it had been confined into tight parameters and insets in my earlier works. Here I have let it flow regally, to become all-pervading. Travel through barren tracts of land in Egypt and Israel, and back home Jaisalmer and Ladakh, has certainly created a fascination for endless naturescapes. Man's entry into these scapes is deferential while nature yields to such transgressions with benign grace. Scalability of watercolors and simultaneous use of tea water as a color has certainly been a new exploration for me in my recent show at Palette Gallery in 2007.
