The artist did his B.F.A (First Class) from College of Arts & Crafts, Kolkata and M.F.A. (First Class) from College of Art, New Delhi. Paresh Maity in 1983 was awarded by The Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata; he received the Harmony Award in Mumbai, 1999 and in 2002 was awarded by Royal Watercolour Society, London.His work is included in collections at The British Museum, London; The National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi; The Birla Academy of Art & Culture,Kolkata.  
The artist, whatever he may choose, be it paper, canvas, sculpture or any other medium, creates magic.
