Prodosh Das Gupta, in  1932 Graduated from Calcutta University; in 1937 did Diploma in Sculpture from Government School of Art and Craft, Madras;1937-39 Further studies in sculpture, Royal Academy of Arts, London.

Some of his major exhibitions include, 1981, International Small Sculpture Exhibition, Hungary; 1979,80  Contemporary Asian Artists Exhibition, Japan; 1975 Middleheim Open-air Sculpture Exhibition, Belgium; 1967 Tokyo Biennale; 1953 Represented India in the International Sculpture Competition.
