Charlotte Perriand (1903 – 1999), a pioneer of interior architecture, introduced the concept of ‘ fitting-out adapted to the used’, at a time when decorative art had become an institution and w here the setting imposed its luxury in daily life.
Collaborating with famed architect Le Corbusier, she stayed in Japan for several years , a country which at that time was unknown to most. There she built a dogma which become a life long guide – the “ volumetry of the space”.
