Notable sculptor, Impy Pilapil  unveils her latest work entitled, “Bloom”.  Textures and materials such as wood, stainless steel and fiberglass will embody the rhythm of an organic form that is blossoming and germinating/ expanding and contracting.  Pilapil states that she takes inspiration from "The breathing in and breathing out that spell an eternally animated transformation of all things around us is a reality in nature that most of us take for granted". Simply, this exhibition is about the primal phenomenon of metamorphosis and the dramatic forays of flora and the plant kingdom.

Receiving critical praise for her elegant and illustrious outdoor sculptures at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, Sycip Park, Makati,  Greenbelt 3 garden and Glorietta 4 Park at Ayala Center, Pilapil has worked on various media in the realm of Sculpture.  Impy Pilapil attended art school for one year at the University of the Philippines and concluded her studies at the Academia Italiana in Rome, Italy.  Her works are held within the important collections of the National Museum of the Philippines, the Prime Minister’s Office in Thailand, His Majesty’s Palace in Brunei, Coca Cola International, Singapore Airlines, Petron, The British Airways, Vonce Ltd., Switzerland and The Philippine Embassy in Spain, to name a few.  She has participated in over 80 local and international exhibitions and is the recipient of distinctions such as the Outstanding Artist Award, Art Association of the Philippines (1973); Thirteen Artists Award, CCP (1975);  Philippine Representative to the Seoul Olympics Arts Festival (1988); 10 Philippine Artists, Museo Civico d'Arte Contemporanea, Italy (1990) and 100 Outstanding Women of the Philippines (2002) among others.
