To the River till Sunrise
by Dominik Mersch Gallery
Location: Dominik Mersch Gallery
Artist(s): LU Song
Date: 12 Sep - 12 Oct 2013

In his works, Song emphasizes mostly inconsiderable themes - residential areas in an urban context becoming the focus of his view. Distant and undefined landscapes are merging together with photorealistic exposure; nature is confronted with man. Daily encounters are twisted and stale environments brightened by conversion. Song uses Western and Eastern paining techniques with which he expresses dream-like sequences with a quasi-narrative feel.

Lu Song is a Beijing-based artist who studied in London. Recently, Song was identified as one of the ’50 Under 50: The Next Most Collectable Artists’ by ‘ART + AUCTION’ Magazine (June 2013). Song is represented by the prestigious Sean Kelly Gallery in New York as well as Alexander Ochs Galleries Berlin/Beijing and Dominik Mersch Gallery.
