"AGING"

Aging – getting old – is a non word of today. Antiaging is in and is used by many companies to give people a bad feeling and to push them to buy their products.

Everybody runs behind it although there is no chance, time is running. Capor, the photographer, who worked his whole life with young beautiful girls, puts himself into the photo showing his problem with getting old.My work may be regarded as a constant confrontation with taboos in society. Initially I concentrated on topics religion and state in an actionistic way. The Crucifixion of Irina P. served as a religious example, while Oh my... concerns the Austrian National Holiday. Nudity was next, still a taboo even after 1968, and currently experiencing a strong revival in the US. Elisabeth, Wedding, and Family Treasures are fine examples.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

For some years I have dealt with social aspects, finding taboos as well. Deserted Fathers considers the problems emigrated Ukrainian women and mothers working in the black market care sector in Western Europe, or Veiling, uncovering the taboo around the voluntary veiling of Muslim women. Both are works with a strong reference to modern times, reacting to and playing with social reality.

My most recent works are very autobiographical. My Daughters – making the consequences of a divorce for children and fathers the subject of discussion – is a taboo that has partly become obsolete as mothers of a younger generation are acting with understanding and responsibility.

The subject of incest in Simon & Pero, my latest work (in progress) is one of the last untouched taboos. Photos, videos, music, installation and works in public space are applied for the realization, guaranteeing - depending on the topic – an optimal transfer to the recipient.
