Born in Shandong province, 1973, Liu Bolin has specialized in stunning performance in which he visually blends himself with the surrounding environment to a point where he becomes literally invisible. He is capable of posing for hours in perfect immobility before a carefully chosen scenery, while a team of selected painters work on him, blurring his body and the background.
Liu Bolin's work is a silent protest against censorship and other forms of violence to which Chinese artist are sadly subjected.
