Born in 1977, Huna province, Jiang Pengyi takes the concept of urban art to a whole new level in his thought provoking series, Unregistered Cities. He conceives this work as a means of critiquing the excessive urbanization, redevelopment and demolition of Beijing. The artist constructs little models of imaginary cities, which are rich in reference to real places, installs them in abandoned places and photographs them shooing great expertise in the use of light.
