Born in 1970, Hubei province. LI Wei is one of the most prominent Chinese performance artist, pushing the boundaries of Chinese contemporary performance art. He has created over 50 site-specific performance pieces. His series Li Wei's Falls, Mirror, High Place are celebrated worldwide. Next to being an innovative photographer and performer, Li Wei is also an established sculptor.

Filled with symbolism, his artworks convey a fierce criticism of politics, power and propaganda as well as the determination to denounce social issues that are tearing the country apart.
