The artworks that constitute the body of work that Carbon 12 represents possess an edge that resonates throughout the internationally established key artists Carbon 12 will exhibit at Art Dubai 2014: Olaf Breuning, Bernhard Buhmann, André Butzer, Rui Chafes, Gil Heitor Cortesao, Sara Rahbar, Anahita Razmi and Michael Sailstorfer. The globally lauded artists within the international contemporary art scene are carefully curated by Carbon 12 in its continuous contributions of relevant, commercially and art historically valuable artworks to the growing UAE contemporary art scene. With this in mind, Carbon 12 will be displaying for the first time new works alongside never-before-seen older works.

The booth will exhibit works that are monochromatic but with shocks of red, blue or a glistening metallic surface. The subtlety is deceptive; each work is as visceral as the last in its technical nuances, from chromatically-intense abstract painting (Butzer), to dangling figuratively hyper-real bronze sculpture (Rahbar), it entices and reminds viewers that a sweeping glance is not enough, that the richness of artistic process manifests itself in the layers upon layers of materials and inspiration that require little explanation to ascertain their visual impact.
