MONUMENTAL: Paintings from Southeast Asia
by Valentine Willie Fine Art
Location: Valentine Willie Fine Art Kuala Lumpur
Date: 18 Apr - 4 May 2012

Scale has played an important part in Art representing celestial and religious grandeur, classic love stories as well as the memorials of socio-political conflict and violence. This sense of the monumental in Art whether large scale mural or ceiling painting, colossal canvases or public sculpture reflects the marvelous, awe inspiring and powerful qualities of creativity to represent the human experience and provoke emotion and pathos. Valentine Willie Fine Art aims to encourage such sentiments through an ongoing model of exhibitions centred around grandiosity and scale. Starting in Manila in 2011 and opening the 2012 calendar of our Singapore gallery, Monumental brings together new and existing contemporary Malaysian and Southeast Asian works of epic proportions.

FEATURING: Anis Ekowindu, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Kow Leong Kiang, Maya Munoz, Phuan Thai Meng, Tommy Wondra & Vasan Sitthiket
