Thavibu Gallery is pleased to present the art exhibition Speaking Alone on 21 February - 15 March – a multi-media and pioneering art exhibition of Burmese conceptual art.
As the title of the exhibition indicates, the art exhibition of works by four well known Burmese artists deal with isolation which the country and its people have endured for decades. The country's isolation has become the face of its current national identity which is underwritten by the extreme conditions that affect its civil and social environment. The works featured include photographs, mixed media paintings, video installations, three dimensional installations and performances. This exhibition gives us a rare glimpse into a proud, but isolated country.
