In responding to the intangible boundaries of wide open spaces - land and sky, day and night, sound and silence -one encounters intangible boundaries of the self, namely, the boundaries of seeing and hearing - and the point at which consciousness turns to reverie. In exploring the space between image and sound, Sara Maher and Nigel Farley examine how the visual and aural can connect in subtle and ambiguous ways to reveal experiential states of being in the landscape. Sara and Nigel seek to create an immersive viewing/listening experience, reflecting work associated with their shared residency at The Broken Hill Art Exchange (April - June, 2013).
