Yoshimi Arts is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Mizuki Kakinuma.
He was born in Tokyo in 1989 and graduated from Tohoku University of Art and Design in 2011. Human beings have expressed sadness, joy, despair, etc., which are human being’s fundamental feeling, through the physical action of painting.
Although, now, art works are expressed by the medium of every possible things, the expressions by painting will not disappear, because of our having various feelings even now. In history of art, various things have been created by imagination which is not be entangled in words. The things created by imagination appear from the unconscious depth of human mind at all times, occur from something to be inexpressible in words, and are restrained by sense of social order.
But, we thought, when the sense is lost, primitive things appear from the unconscious depth of human mind. The creation of the works by Mizuki Kakinuma may be due to the diminution of sense of social order.
In Japan, we have pantheistic views and have chosen to live with nature at all times. We think that he gains essay in nature and creates works by painting stroke coming from feelings, which can also be understood as poetic sentiment.
This is his first solo exhibition and new works will be exhibited.
