Jogja Contemporary at Sankring Art Space presents:Seno Andrianto: Merah Putih, a solo exhibition featuring Seno Andrianto. He portrays the subject matter of his work using representational techniques, where the figure does not present a linear narrative, but poses in fairly odd gestures. In these series of works for the exhibition, Seno wraps his figures with a red and white cloth. There is a huge pent-up energy on the figure in the painting, nuanced explosive as reflected the background produced brushstrokes and melted paint. As individuals, Seno has a special concept of nationalism: patriotic and critical at the same time, especially to the social imbalance highlighted by the media, such as: the absence of a leader role in many critical situations, also the absence of protection for migrant women workers.
