Visitors to White Rabbit often ask whether our name was inspired by the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. In fact, it came from a Chinese porcelain bunny. But the Gallery does have a Wonderland feel: like Alice following the white rabbit, visitors encounter one surprise after another. And Down the Rabbit Hole contains more surprises than ever.
The Gallery will be closed from August 5 to September 7, when a new exhibition opens, so be sure to catch the current show!
Among the highlights:
- a dazzling installation made from discarded lamps by LuxuryLogico
- Tu Wei-Cheng’s “ancient” stone wall, covered with runes in a strangely contemporary language
- a video installation by Wang Duo that wittily fuses 20th and 21st-century notions of the modern woman
- Wu Jian’an’s astonishing papercuts, which transform myths into landscapes
- a giant sculpted heart by Wu Daxin that is literally ice-cold
- furniture art by Michael Lin
- Wu Chi-Tsung’s eerie shadowscape, made with light, lenses and wire mesh
