Dubai-based journalist doing her second solo – oil on canvas. The event will showcase 21 works. So far have done 7 group exhibitions in various cities including, Kochi, S'pore, Mumbai, Dilli. Reviewed as 'dream weaver on canvas' by The Week magazine in the people's section of 2006 Jan 1 edition. Reviewed by Indian Express as the 'new van gogh'. Reviewed by Hindu as the 'revolutionary oil painter who redefines and braves bold strokes'. Loves to travel, write, paint and draw inspirations to branch out of monotonous life and circumstances. Trees to her signify growth despite being stationed. Her first solo which had 25 works was called ‘Tree of life’ and was exhibited in Cochin Art Gallery in 2005, Dec. The artist also pens a poem with each painting and they travel from moments of life’s simple truths, expat life in gulf, marriage, love, friends and family… Her verses are representative of these thoughts depicted through the moods of her trees, their branches, silhouettes. The predominant technique B’lu uses is bold colours with the palate knife. B’lu is the artists pet name. The reason why her pet name is her brush is that she thinks painting is her passion whereas everywhere else she is officially represented by her pen name – Archana R D King.
