The Silverlens Galleries, in its three exhibition spaces- Silverlens, SLab, and 20Square- and two backrooms, show contemporary art from the Philippines. Silverlens pioneered the repurposing of warehouses into galleries in Manila and shows a thorough program of established and emerging contemporary art from the country's most exciting artists.
Waterscapes and portraiture are the anchors of this year's presentation. All the works of artists Frank Callaghan, Mariano Ching, Elaine Navas, and Yasmin Sison point to the ever-presence of water and the range of human responses to this vastness. Patricia Eustaquio, Nona Garcia, Hanna Pettyjohn, and Luis Lorenzana bring us portraiture not in the usual ways. Wawi Navarroza and Gary Ross Pastrana present hybrid photographs.
