Drawing
three short stories Small things
I usually make big drawings—drawings as long as a hallway, as big as a room. I have always wanted the viewer to be inside the drawing, to be enveloped in it.
But with this show, I decided to go the other direction, and go small. I wanted drawings that were delicate and fragile, like memories you want to not forget.
Instead of the drawing drowning the viewer, this time I want the drawing to be held on to, placed in the viewer’s hands, slowly, quietly.
Trilogy This is a love story. Three short love stories.
I asked three of my favorite writers—Ramon de Veyra, King Palisoc, and Zig Marasigan—to each give a sentence that could be the start of a short love story. These sentences will frame each set of drawings.
However, these words are not summaries of the story; these are just the beginnings.
